Parenting Our Future

Apr 26, 2022

As a mom of two teen boys who both have anxiety, I know how hard it can be to navigate and help them without becoming anxious about it myself!  If you have a child with anxiety, first know there is hope!

In this episode, psychologist, Melanie McNally and I talk about why kids are more anxious than we seemed to be at their age.  We know social media plays a part but we have so much more access to news, 24/7

In this episode, Dr. Melanie and I talk about how can parents tell if their child's anxiety is normal, everyday stress or if its harmful anxiety that's holding them back.

Dr. Melanie shares ways parents can help their kids deal with everyday stress and bigger anxieties.

For Dr McNally’s “Helping Your Child Deal with Difficult Problems,” workbook, you can download it from the Parent Toolbox.

About Dr. Melanie McNally
Melanie McNally, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who helps Gen Zers become the super heroes of their life stories. She provides online support through teletherapy and coaching; online programs; and books that teach Gen Zers how to build self-confidence, manage anxiety, and achieve their goals. Dr. McNally founded Therapy Bootcamp, an app-based psychoeducational service for Gen Zers to get therapy tools delivered right to their phones. Therapy Bootcamp is an 8-week program where bootcampers build self-awareness and develop coping tools, all while being able to DM Dr. McNally directly. The next Bootcamp starts April 4, 2022. Dr. McNally has worked in the mental health field since 2005 and teaches the skills, strategies, and tools that she herself has used and continues to use. She lives in the forest of the upper peninsula of Michigan with her husband and three dogs.
